The Egyptian Abu Zaabal Company for Engineering Industries (Factory 100) is said to be in talks with Chinese Poly Technologies (PolyTech) for a Transfer of Technology (ToT) agreement over various military-industrial projects..
Tactical Report has prepared a 245-word report to shed more light on the talks and the projects in question.
Reports from Cairo suggest that the Egyptian Abu Zaabal Company for Engineering Industries (Factory 100), a military factory affiliated with the Egyptian Ministry of Military Production, is in discussions with Chinese Poly Technologies (PolyTech), a subsidiary of China Poly Group Corporation that deals with missiles and military products, for a Transfer of Technology (ToT) agreement regarding 30 projects in the field of military industries.
Sources close to the situation say that most of those projects are related to military welding, optronics, nano and micro-scale fabrication and production, and metallurgy.
The ToT agreement being considered is for the transfer and localization of technologies used to build advanced fabrication equipment, including robotic welding machines.
The same sources add that the discussions are going well.
It was revealed that Egyptian engineers and technicians will be visiting China for training, while Chinese engineers will in turn visit Factory 100 to assess the readiness for the proposed projects.
No price has been allocated to the agreement, as it is considered to be a part of a larger framework strategy followed up by Egyptian and Chinese high officials, to enhance cooperation at all levels.
Available information says that Chinese companies are pursuing market opportunities in Egypt's growing military industry.
PolyTech has a previous history of working with Egyptian military companies.
In 2020, it acquired capital in International Marathon United Technology (IMUT), a company set up to deliver locally-built armored personnel carriers (APC) and other military armored vehicles to the Egyptian army.
