Data shows that the KLJ-7A active phased array radar has an aperture of only 600 mm, but integrates more than 1,000 T/R components. The maximum detection range of air targets is 170 kilometer

At the 2018 Zhuhai Air Show, my country also demonstrated an AESA active phased array radar called LKF601E. The radar has the characteristics of small size, light weight, easy replacement, and high reliability. According to booth data, this is an X-band multi-function radar with enhanced fire control capabilities that can detect targets 170 kilometers away and track 15 targets simultaneously. The maximum search range on the sea surface reaches 220 kilometers.

The new airborne AESA radar LKF601E, an airborne FCS AESA radar from the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), was unveiled at the Zhuhai Air Show. The new radar uses an efficient air cooling (air cooling) system, and known platforms may include JF-17 and FTC-2000G.
LKF601E
The radar uses a 3GHz bandwidth in the X-band and can detect targets at a distance of 170 kilometers, track up to 15 targets simultaneously, and guide air-to-air missiles to attack 4 targets. The radar also supports air/ground mode, has one-meter SAR resolution and 300km terrain map. When searching for targets at sea, the radar can detect large targets up to 200 kilometers away. The planar AESA array measures 60×60 cm and weighs 69 kg. The processor and power module also weigh less than 35 kilograms. The array consumes 3200 VA of
power.

Due to the large nose of the J-20, it is expected that the aperture of the active phased array radar of the J-20 stealth fighter may reach 1 meter. Integrating over 2000 T/R components should not be a problem. And taking the number of components of the KLJ-7A radar and the detection range of the T/R as a reference, the performance geometry of the J-20 stealth fighter airborne radar should be roughly clear.
